Actress Shiri Appleby and Jon Shook have welcomed a baby girl on March 23, according to Us Weekly.
"She's heaven," 34-year-old Shiri says of her new bundle of joy. "I'm beyond thrilled."
The couple had decided not to find out the gender ahead of time, saying that it provided "a heightened excitement."
This is the the couple's first child. Shiri and Jon, a 31-year-old chef, are engaged to be married.
Shiri recently appeared on Season 2 of HBO's Girls and has also appeared on Chicago Fire. She rose to fame playing Liz on Roswell.
When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Shiri earlier this month, she acknowledged that it might be a challenge to balance motherhood with a busy acting career.
“I think the one thing [I’ve] talked about with any mother who has a career and is trying to raise a child it’s like, how do you balance it?,” Shiri points out.
“And I think like with any parent, you just want to protect your child and try to make the best decisions,” she continues.
Shiri even says she has plans to bring her little one to the set of Girls with her when they start filming Season 3 shortly.
“The great thing about our job as actors is that you have beautiful trailers and lots of down time, and you can always bring a baby to work,” she says. Sounds like a plan.
Congrats to the happy family!
