Thank you, Sony!

Channing Tatum's action movie, White House Down, was going to be released on November 1, 2013, but it's being moved to the summer tentpole position of June 28, 2013. Mark your Cha-lendar now!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing stars as a Secret Service agent who must rescue the president from a paramilitary group that has taken over the White House. (Maybe they’re just redecorating?) White House Down also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, James Woods and Richard Jenkins.

The movie is directed by Roland Emmerich, who is used to July 4th openings, since he also directed Independence Day. Sounds like the studio thinks this will be another hit for Channing. The man can't miss!
