It's a good week to be a television program on HBO. The premium cable channel has gone on a renewal spree. Yesterday (July 2) the HBO powers that be shocked no one by picking up True Blood for Season 6. Now you can add Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom and cult-hit comedy Eastbound & Down to the list of HBO shows that will be returning next year.

The good news for Newsroom came yesterday, when a press release announced that the controversial new drama was renewed for a second season after just two episodes. This morning, Variety confirmed that Eastbound & Down will also be back for its fourth season.

The Eastbound & Down news should be especially welcome for fans, as there were rumors that the creative forces behind the comedy were ready to move on after Season 3.
