The TV world is down one misanthropic medical genius as House ended its run last night. So did House self-destruct, or did he find the redemption he’s sought for so long? Here’s what went down.
House faked his own death! In order to duck his prison sentence and hang out with his dying bestie Wilson for a while longer, House made it appear he’d burned to death in a house fire. But, actually, the charred body wasn’t him! Happy ending! Kind of!
It wasn’t a given, however, that House would make it out alive. While hanging out in the burning building for a while, dithering about whether to die, House was visited by a parade of special guest stars including his ex-wife Stacy (Sela Ward), his former shrink (Andre Braugher), and his dead intern Amber (Anne Dudek), all trying to persuade him not to lay down and die.
One notable absence? His former flame Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). No big surprise there, since her departure from the show last year is still shrouded in speculation.
