These days, former Disney channel princess Miley Cyrus has been spending quite a lot of time at the gym — and the results are pretty hard to ignore! Miley’s gone from cute teen to waif-thin actress at a surprising rate, and her newfound love of Pilates seems to be the reason why. (Well, other than her infamous gluten allergy.)
Mari Winsor, of the Winsor Pilates workout DVDs, is Miley’s personal Pilates trainer, and she has the inside scoop on what the slim starlet has been doing to attain her increasingly tiny physique.
“In Pilates, every exercise that you do is focused on your abs, or as we call it in Pilates, your powerhouse,” Mari shares, via Celebuzz. “There are specific exercises where you might feel a little more of a burn in that area but you are constantly using your abs to maintain control of your body’s movement.”
In particular, Mari recommends three Pilates moves that she says are “crucial to sculpt your abs”: the 100, the Double Leg Stretch, and the Criss Cross. For her part, Miley is quite familiar with all three. According to Mari, the young star practices six times a week at the Windsor studio in Los Angeles.
Six times a week? We’d believe it. Have you seen how many times she’s been photographed leaving the gym lately? We sometimes wonder if she even goes anywhere else. (Other than fancy awards shows to show off her hot new figure, naturally.)
