Boston is known for its involvement in the Revolutionary War, and now it seems that another war may take place there.
The second film in the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, is still seven months away from hitting theaters (so far away!), but we're already getting news about where the final two films will be shot.
The third book in the series, Mockingjay, will be broken into two films, which will begin filming on September 16, according to Production Weekly. The films had previously been rumored to begin filming in July, so they've been pushed back just a bit.
The Mockingjay films will shoot in Atlanta and Boston.
On April 7, Production Weekly tweeted:
The Hunger Games movies had filmed scenes in the past in Atlanta, but this would be the first time that they'll shoot in Boston. Recently, scenes for previous Hunger Games films had been shot in Hawaii.
Perhaps Boston could be the setting for the streets of the Capitol? Or perhaps a certain mystery location that readers of the third book will be familiar with?
So if you're in the Atlanta and Boston areas this fall, keep an eye out for Jennifer Lawrence in all her Katniss Everdeen glory.
We're just waiting for someone to ride on a horse through Boston and shout, "The Peacekeepers are coming! The Peacekeepers are coming!"
