During the 2012 Summer Olympics, there was no question that Michael Phelps was the star of the show. Sure, his teammate Ryan Lochte also had his fair share of success — quickly becoming a household name after winning a gold medal of his own and coining his trademark phrase, ‘Jeah!’ — but Michael was the ultimate man of the hour, becoming the most-decorated swimmer of all time after upping his medal count to 22, including 18 of the gold variety.

But with the Games long over, the tables seem to have turned. While Michael has been more under-the-radar than ever — having retired from swimming and breaking up with girlfriend Megan Rossee — Ryan’s gone Hollywood. He’s set to debut his own E! reality show, What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, later this spring.

So is Michael seeing green now that Ryan’s on track to become the bigger star?

Not quite. According to onlookers at last week’s Motorola Music Lounge, hosted by Sirius XM, Michael didn’t have a care in the world, partying the afternoon away at the Sol Republic-sponsored event at the W Hotel with other VIPs including DJ’s Paul Oakenfeld, Steve Aoki, and Cameron Winklevoss. Post-party, he attended an invite-only poker bash at Sol Republic CEO Kevin Lee’s pad. (Guests at the bash also took selfies at the interactive A/X photo booth while sipping on Corzo Tequila!)

“He was having fun but wasn’t looking for extra attention,” a partygoer tells Wetpaint. “He doesn’t seem super-interested in the spotlight right now. I’m sure, more than anything, he’s happy Ryan’s taking the heat off him.”

Even so, any chance Michael would do a cameo on Ryan’s show? We certainly hope so!
