With Fifty Shades of Grey officially a phenomenon, it’s not surprising that other books are looking to capitalize on the Twilight fan fiction craze.

Enter Gabriel’s Inferno, a book that started with many shades of Fifty Shades. Authored by Sylvain Reynard (a pen name of the real author), the story focuses on a professor and Dante scholar named Gabriel Emerson, who is “tortured by his dark past,” according to the publisher’s description. He falls for virtuous graduate student Julia Mitchell, which “sends him on a journey in which his past and present collide.”

Poised to capture the same readers who fell in love with Fifty Shades, Penguin’s Berkley publishing imprint snapped up Gabriel’s Inferno for an undisclosed seven-figure deal, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

With Gabriel’s Inferno promising to deliver “[a]n intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love, and redemption,” there’s a good chance we’ll be hearing dream casting news about Gabriel Emerson and Julia Mitchell for a film version soon enough.
