After a long separation, David Arquette and Courteney Cox are heading for full-on splitsville.
TMZ reports that David filed for divorce on June 12, the day of the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary. He cited “irreconcilable differences” and is seeking joint custody of their 8-year-old daughter, Coco.
The actor and actress first separated in October 2010 “to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage," they revealed in a statement (via People). "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go through this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together."
David checked into rehab in January 2011, competed on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars, and has now been sober for over a year. Although he has moved on romantically, dating Entertainment Tonight reporter Christina McLarty on and off since September 2011, Courteney hasn’t. The Cougar Town star admitted to Howard Stern in February that she’s not yet ready to get physical with another guy. "I'm really not ready," she said. "I'm not saying I'm not ready to have a make-out session, I'm just not ready to — I don't know. I'm not lying... I've not had a man since David."
The couple married back in 1999, four years after meeting on the set of Scream.
