Jane Henson, who was married to Jim Henson and helped him create the Muppets, has passed away from cancer at age 78, according to People.
Jane met Jim in a puppetry class at the University of Maryland in the '50s, and they eventually became partners in the development of the beloved Muppets.
The couple married in 1959 and had five children before separating in 1986. Jim passed away in 1990.
In 1992, Jane created The Jim Henson Legacy to keep his artistic contributions alive.
