The new season of Arrested Development is almost here and fans can hardly wait to put on their sweatpants, order take-out, and watch the entire season in one sitting.
On last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jason Bateman revealed that while fans will get to do just that when the entire fourth season of the show debuts on Netflix on May 4, it may not look exactly like the show did in years past.
“I want people to manage their expectations. They’re great episodes, but what they are not are episodes like it was when it was on that other network,” said the actor.
“We were supposed to do a movie, and we still very well might, but every time the showrunner tried to put this big story that he wants to do in this movie in a movie script... it’s too big,” he explained. “Each character gets their own episode, and all the action happens at the same time, so it can only really work on Netflix, where all these episodes are released on the same day.”
Even if the show doesn’t end up being a big hit the second time around, the guys have a built in back up plan. After all, there's always money in the banana stand.
