The Big C has reared its ugly head yet again.

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s mother, Patricia, died of complications related to cancer on Tuesday, June 12. She was only 67.

It was Patricia who helped Jennifer realize her dream of becoming a singer and actress, moving with her daughter to L.A. in 1989. Earlier this year, J.Love gushed to Parade (via Us Weekly), “I’ve been really blessed and I don’t necessarily know what keeps one person here longer than somebody else, but I couldn't feel more grateful.”

Along with being supportive, Patricia evidently had a wry sense of humor. Back when J.Love first landed her role on The Client List, she told People, "[My mom] was like, 'So let's review... For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you're playing a crack ho on TV.' She was like, 'Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?'”

The day after Patricia’s passing, Jennifer’s rep released a touching statement: “[Patricia] was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place.”

Our hearts go out to Jennifer and her older brother Todd.
