"Bye Bye Bye"? More like, hello hello hello!
Justin Timberlake had taken an extended hiatus from music, but he is heading back into the recording studio to start working on a new album.
The singer-actor took to Twitter on January 10 to give his fans something to look forward to. "To whom it may concern...I think I'M READY!," he wrote, along with posting a video of himself walking into the studio.
On the video, he says, "I don't want to put anything out that I feel like is anything I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it. ... I'm ready." Justin's last album was released in 2006, so we think he's waited long enough.
Justin had quickly become a trending topic the day before when he had furtively posted, "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST…"
Apparently, a source told People that Jusin and frequent collaborator Timbaland had been working on new songs over the summer.
Is this a sign that his acting career isn't going the way he wanted? He gave a widely heralded performance in The Social Network, and his rom-com with Mila Kunis, Friends With Benefits, was popular. However, his two most recent films, In Time and Trouble with the Curve, failed to have much box-office success.
Then again, maybe Justin is just missing music, and plans to return to acting eventually. He's certainly been staying busy, as he and Jessica Biel were wed last year.
We're relieved that he's recording new tunes again, since we're pretty sure we would cry a river if he didn't.
