HBO's new hit Girls has been generating a ton of buzz, and with good reason — many critics have compared it to HBO's OG four-girls-exploring-love-and-life-in-the-Big-Apple show, Sex and the City, which show creator Lena Dunham says was a major influence on Girls' development.
But the premise might not be the only thing that Girls shares with its predecessor, since Lena says she'd love to see some of the SATC cast appear on the show in a reunion, of sorts, even if it's pretty low-key. Lena told E! Online's Marc Malkin that she could easily envision cameos from that cast happening at some point during the show's run: ""Maybe we can have something like Miranda [Cynthia Nixon[ drinking a smoothie and walking by the gym," Lena said. "But maybe it's something you save for the series' finale. You know, it's this amazing moment where they're just sitting at a table in the background."
One caveat? The expense of outfitting the glam gals of Sex and the City amidst the lo-fi style (and budget!) of Girls. "I feel like they probably come with a hair and makeup team we can't afford," Lena said.
