When a legend like Notorious B.I.G is taken from us, the impact is staggering — and that's just for fans. Imagine how much worse it is for those who were actually close to the hip-hop luminary. Lil' Kim is one such person, and when she appeared on RapFix Live on Wednesday, the saucy singer revealed a vulnerable side.
Rapper Bun B asked Kim, "How was it dealing with the loss of Biggie for you in this industry?" Kim was visibly saddened, and replied, "Bun B, that's a very tough question because it took me so long — super long to deal with the loss of a person who was such a huge impact in my life." Clearly, Kim isn't just referring to Biggie's influence as an artist. Kim made her debut as a part of Biggie's Junior Mafia crew, and even dated the fallen MC for a time.
Today marks the 16th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G's murder. It's a tough time of year for anyone who loved him, but it sounds like Lil' Kim is taking it especially hard. She adds: "I never celebrate [this] day. It's so funny because I can always feel when that day is approaching. I get so depressed. I get so sad. It happens before March, in February. I can feel it coming."
Stay strong, Lil' Kim, and RIP, Biggie!
