Josh Chunn is Lindsay Lohan’s latest romance, or so he’d have you believe.

When Michael Lohan showed up at his daughter’s doorstep on Friday, October 19, intending to stage an intervention, the tabloids reported that a dude claiming to be Lindsay’s boyfriend gave him and his posse the boot.

Then yesterday (October 21), the 25-year-old revealed his identity (and his shirtless chest) to the Daily News in an exclusive interview, in which he dished on his relationship with LiLo.

If that sounds suspect to you — like Josh is just publicity-hungry — your instincts might be right. Lindsay herself claims to be single, tweeting yesterday, “I don't have a boyfriend. I have Chanel, Hermes, and diamonds.” (Ah, Lindsay. She’s just one of the people, huh?)

But Josh says that not only are he and Lindsay dating, but he’s a glowing beacon of purity in her life. “I think I’m the best influence on her,” he tells the Daily News. “The deal is she is surrounded by a bunch of f—kups. [...] I’m just trying to figure out what’s best for her at this time right now.”

But who is Josh, anyway? According to his personal website, he grew up in southern Louisiana and attended the University of Louisiana Lafayette, where he joined the school’s Ragin’ Cajuns cheerleader squad. Then he moved to LA and became a fitness trainer. He says that he lives down the street from the 26-year-old star but that he actually met her at a party at the swanky Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood.

Oh, he goes by Joshua Cole on his website, so maybe either that surname or Chunn is a stage name (or, perhaps more accurately, a tabloid name).

For the record, he’s following both Lindsay Lohan on Twitter, but she’s not following him. (He also tried in September to get Britney Spears to hire him over Twitter.) Infer what you will, readers!

And he’s positioning himself as both the paramour and life coach for La Lohan. “I’ve been trying to get Lindsay to focus,” he says “But how do you get her to focus with all the stuff going on around her? I can barely focus.”

He continues: “She’s a strong girl. She’s cleaning up. I just want her to be okay. I want us to be okay.”

Considering the very first word he uses to describe himself on his Twitter profile is “hustler,” we’re officially skeptical.
