Update: According to TMZ, Lindsay Lohan had assumed her Liz & Dick producers were going to foot the staggering hotel bill.

Original story: Just when you think she's out, they pull her back in.

We were happy to hear Lindsay Lohan wouldn’t be prosecuted in that strange jewelry case, but now TMZ is back with less happy LiLo news — she was banned from the well-known Chateau Marmont Hotel for an outstanding bill of $46,350.04.

TMZ has a copy of a letter sent to Lindsay from the general manager, Philip Pavel. In the letter, dated July 31, the manager writes that they had made repeated attempts to get her to pay her bill for charges starting on May 30. (She was reportedly there for 47 days.) Since there had been no "resolution" to that point, he said they could no longer extend credit for her to remain at the hotel.

"Please have all of your belongings removed from Suite 33 by 12:00PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Furthermore, until we get the matter of your outstanding debt paid, know that we will be unable to host you on property or in the restaurant."

Yikes. There's more to the letter, which TMZ posted in full. It’s pretty polite, considering we’re talking about an unpaid bill for what amounts to around two years of college education. There's also an itemized list of her expenses. It goes on for several pages and leaves little room for sympathy. If you rack up a bill for $3,145.07 at the minibar — and don't pay up — it’s hard to imagine you have a good excuse.

It’s possible Lindsay has paid the bill by now, and maybe her rep will respond to TMZ’s report, but even to let it get this far is pretty sad. Lindsay is kind of an easy target, but all celebs who go a month without paying their bills should be called out for it. Heck, a regular person would probably face charges!
