One thing about pop star Madonna may surprise you: she has a homeless older brother living on the streets of Traverse City, Michigan.
Anthony Ciccone, 56, who revealed in 2011 that he had been living under a bridge after losing his job at the Ciccone family vineyard over a year before, was arrested on Sunday night after police say he drunkenly struggled with an officer.
E! News reports that Anthony had a scuffle with police after he refused to leave a bathroom at the local civic center. In the midst of the struggle, Anthony struck his face on the bathroom floor, requiring stitches. His blood alcohol level was recorded at the hospital as a whopping .40.
While he hasn’t been officially arraigned for that incident, he’s being held without bond on a previous trespassing charge.
Just a few weeks ago, according to Huffington Post, Anthony said that Madonna “doesn’t give a s--- if I’m dead or alive,” and that “I never loved her in the first place, she never loved me. [...] We never loved each other.”
Anthony told Inside Edition, “I get all this crap because my sister’s really famous, and I get crap all the time. It’s endless.”
Alcohol addiction is apparently related to Anthony losing his job at the vineyard.
So why, with a rich and famous sister, has Anthony been on the streets for years? This is what he had to say when the news first broke: “You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multibazillionaire and I’m homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody."
