On New Girl’s first season, Zooey Deschanel’s Jessica Day went through quite a few hotties, but none panned out. Now Entertainment Weekly reports that a brand-new guy is coming into Jess’s adorkable life in Season 2, and he’s very different from the nerdy teacher (Justin Long) and older man (Dermot Mulroney) Jess was attracted to before.

David Walton will be playing her new leading man, according to EW. “He’s landed a recurring role in season two of New Girl when Jess falls for a ‘classic bad boy type.’ His character mistakes Jess for someone else, but she decides to go along with it anyway. Expect him to show up in New Girl’s premiere on September 25.”

Also making an appearance in the Season 2 premiere is Leslie Mann, who will “play a ‘shot girl’ whom Schmidt hires to work his party celebrating the removal of his penis cast.” As fans will recall, he and Cece fell in actual love after she took care of him, sex-free, as he recovered from a groin injury. And comedienne Rachael Harris will return in Season 2 as the vice principal at Jess’s school.

Do you remember David from the short-lived NBC sitcom Bent, co-starring Amanda Peet? We barely do, but what we do recall is a strikingly handsome guy. Hopefully he sticks around long enough for us to get to know him, but not long enough for him to replace Nick.

New Girl Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, September 25 on FOX.
