Crazy Rick (Andrew Lincoln) picked up the phone. Michonne (Danai Gurira) left Woodbury. Carol (Melissa McBride) may or may not be dead. The Governor (David Morrissey) has a zombie daughter. And Little Ass-Kicker needs more food. So now what? The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 5 left us with lots of question marks, so here are some spoilers on what will reportedly happen next — on the Sunday, November 18 Episode 6,“Hounded” — plus some teases on future events.
WHO IS ON THE PHONE? At the end of Episode 5, Rick picked up the ringing prison phone and said "Hello." (Still polite, even while losing his mind! Love that Ricktator.) According to Spoil the Dead — which had solid spoilers about Ep5, so we're trusting them until proven wrong — Rick gets three phone calls that are just hallucinations from his grief. The first call is from Amy (Andrea's sister, who turned into a walker on Season 1) and the second is from Jim (who also died on Season 1). The third call is from Lori, who tells Rick that she loves him and that he needs to move on.
CAROL IS ALIVE: Here's Spoil the Dead's description for how Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) finds his occasional flirtmate, Carol. "Daryl takes it upon himself to go searching for Carol in the prison. He encounters nothing but zombies on the way, and finds one with a knife in it's head, still alive. It's still alive because the one who stabbed it only stabbed it through the cheek and not the brain. Daryl realizes that it was Carol and that it means she no longer had a weapon with her. Desperate and believing she is dead, he falls to the ground, sitting on the floor. He then notices a door in front of him that someone was trying to open. Daryl takes it to mean a zombie was trying to get in but failed, but at the end of the episode he opens the door and there Carol lays on the ground, alive but almost powerless." If this is true, hopefully Carol can recover quickly and start to help with the baby. Carol and Daryl could be her godparents!
ANDREA MAKES BAD CHOICES: In Woodbury, the Governor and Andrea get closer and reportedly have sex. (!)
MERLE VS. MICHONNE: According to Spoil the Dead, "A group led by Merle is sent to find and kill Michonne in the forest. The group finds a cryptogram of zombie parts made by Michonne and warning them to stay away but they continue searching for her. They fight and she manages to kill two of them. Zombies attack her and the others and she cuts the stomach of that which attacked her and she gets covered in blood. The other zombies just pass her by and she realizes that the blood fools them."
GLENN AND MAGGIE HIT TROUBLE: Glenn and Maggie leave the prison on another supply run to get food for the baby. Merle reportedly reaches a town where he meets Glenn and Maggie. He takes Maggie hostage and orders Glenn to drive to Woodbury, while Michonne watches from nearby. (Merle just loves to take people hostage and drag them to Woodbury. Andrea, why can't you see the problem?)
MICHONNE AT THE PRISON: Michonne reaches the prison and is met by Rick who had just gone outside in the yard after having hallucinations of Lori talking to him on the phone.
FUTURE TEASE: MORE DEATH: Lauren Cohan told Entertainment Weekly Maggie will play a big part in the prison group's clash with Woodbury, which is coming up. “The body count is not done. That’s pretty much all I can say, but we’re not just going to see death. There’s going to be a whole host of challenges now that we’ve got the human threat. Woodbury is up to no good. The Governor is up to no good; it’s really scary. We’ve got some scary stuff ahead.”
FUTURE TEASE: WHAT'S IN THE GOVERNOR'S NOTEBOOK? Michonne saw a list of names and other details in the Governor's journal, during Episode 5. Robert Kirkman told The Hollywood Reporter, "That's definitely going to be a mystery for now, so we'll just have to see. There's definitely something going on there. The guy is keeping a notebook for some reason, and what that reason is right now remains to be seen."
FUTURE TEASE: THE GOVERNOR WANTS A CURE FOR PENNY: "That's really the answer as to why he puts so much stock in Milton (Dallas Roberts)," Kirkman told THR. "The Governor is certainly hopeful that there will be some kind of thing discovered that tells them that that is in fact still his daughter and he hasn't lost her. But who knows where that'll go or what his reaction will be when he gets the news."
FUTURE TEASE: DARYL STEPS UP: Kirkman says Daryl will step up and take on a leadership role while Rick continues down his mental rabbit hole. Daryl can do the job, but "whether or not that's something that he wants to do, we'll see. We've seen that Daryl is a character who, while he is very capable, is someone who is not exactly looking for a lot of responsibility. So I don't necessarily see it going that way, but Daryl is an extremely versatile character, and there's a lot of depth to that guy."
FUTURE TEASE: ZOMBIE FIGHT CLUB IS IMPORTANT: Michael Rooker (Merle) talked to AMC about the gladiator scene we saw at the end of Episode 5. "Well, I can tell you this: That was an amazing turning point. Goodness, that's a big deal, that scene."
It's all a big deal! What do you think about these spoilers and teasers?
