Matthew McConaughey takes his job as an actor very seriously, so when he began losing weight for his role as a Texas man with AIDS for the upcoming film The Dallas Buyer's Club, it seemed like it was par for the course for the Hollywood hottie.
However, after dropping a shocking 30 pounds in mere months, new pictures of Matthew show him looking tired and frail as he prepares to begin filming next week in Louisiana.
In the above picture of Matthew, taken a little over a month ago, the 42-year-old father looks gaunt and exhausted as he walks through JFK airport.
Thankfully for Matthew, he will be able to slowly put weight back on his very slender frame once he’s finished shooting the scenes immediately leading up to his character’s death, which will reportedly be filmed first. In other words, the movie will be, more or less, shot in reverse chronological order, so that by the time filming ends, Matthew will be at his heaviest.
We applaud Matthew for taking extreme measures for his art, but we hope he's taking all of the necessary health precautions.
What do you think? Has he gone too far for the role?
