Look at that face! That is the face of a winner.

Banana Joe is the first affenpinscher to win the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He got the title last night during the 137th annual event at Madison Square Garden in New York City. His win marked the ninth for the toy group, but the first for his breed.

Banana Joe, who usually goes by "Joey," will turn 6 next month and will retire. He won't be returning to Bowmansville, PA; instead, the New York Times says he'll head back to the Netherlands, where he was bred and born. Judge Michael Dougherty told the NY Times of Joey, “This little fella seemed to want it a touch more. He’s a fantastic affenpinscher, with a fantastic face, a great body. I’ve never had my hands on a better affenpinscher. Ever.”

Joey won over these other group winners: Matisse, the Portuguese water dog; Honor, a bichon frisé; Jewel, an American foxhound; Swagger, an Old English sheepdog; Oakley, a German wirehaired pointer; and Adam, a smooth fox terrier.

Last year's winner was Malachy the Pekingese; in 2011, it was Hickory the Scottish deerhound; in 2010, it was Sadie the Scottish terrier.
