With two comedy veterans like Melissa Joan Hart and Joe Lawrence co-starring in a sitcom, could a nod to their former hits, Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, or Blossom, be far behind?

Yes, according to the two actors. A familiar "Whoa" and some Brotherly Love is what we're getting for now — but that doesn't mean they're not aware of their fans' wishes.

"I know a lot of people ask for that," Melissa told Wetpaint Entertainment during a visit to the set of the ABC Family hit, Melissa & Joey. "I think it's hard because you want to move forward, but then again I think it would be so much fun to work with [those] people."

So, who's on her short list of former co-stars that she'd love to bring back for a guest appearance? Soleil Moon Fry, Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick, and Elisa Donovan, to name a few. But for now, the person with the best shot at making it on the show is Melissa's BFF, Kellie Martin, whom she grew up watching on Life Goes On.

"She's one of my best friends, and we've never actually worked together," said Melissa, who revealed that she already has a role in mind for Martin. "I would love for her to pop in. She's not really known for her comedy, she's known for turning on the tears. I would love to make her be silly."

While Joe isn't keen on a Blossom reunion, he did have a lot of fun bringing on brothers Matt and Andy this season. "That was then and this is now. I am not a big fan of those reunion things," he told us. "With Matt and Andy, we may not have even done that if the Twitter presence wasn't so strong and ABC Family saying, 'You gotta have them on.' I got 45,000 tweets last night after the show. It was crazy cool."

Instead of a TV family reunion, Melissa and Joe are instead campaigning for another kind of family reunion — a real one, between their co-star Lucy DeVito and her famous father.

"We really want Danny," said Melissa, "We've been begging him to do it. To have someone that brilliant and funny to work with would be fantastic."
