On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 from an overdose of an anesthetic, propofol. Three years later, his family continues to mourn the King of Pop, as do millions of fans around the world.
Michael’s 14-year-old daughter, Paris Jackson, tweeted this morning, “RIP Michael Jackson… Dad you will forever be in my heart <3 i love you.” Last week, she sent out a photo of her mother and father, writing, “mommy and daddy!<3.”
Several other members of her family, including her uncle Randy Jackson and aunt La Toya Jackson went on Twitter to remember the singer. “3 years ago on this June 25th, my brother passed. I will be at FL from 11am-1pm today to visit him,” Randy wrote.
La Toya tweeted, “Sad Morning All. This Day was the day that lead to the demise of my little brother."Michael We Love" May you RIP. Gone FAR To [sic] Soon.”
Celebrities from Justin Bieber to Jermaine Dupri also sent out Twitter tributes to MJ.
