The 2012 Olympics have only been over for a few hours now, but the newly retired Michael Phelps is already busy plotting his next career move.

So what’s next for the world’s most distinguished swimmer?

Golf, apparently. The 27-year-old retiree recently announced that he’ll be starring on the upcoming fifth season of the Golf Channel’s The Haney Project.

The show will feature Michael as the student of Hank Haney, former coach to Tiger Woods, and will chronicle his travels through some of the world’s greatest golf courses.

“I have traveled the world through swimming, but really haven’t had an opportunity to experience the world through my travels,” Michael said in a statement. “I want to play all the world’s great golf courses, but I’d like to play them well. I’m excited about this project with Golf Channel and I’m looking forward to working with Hank and see what we can do together on the golf course.”

The Haney Project doesn’t sound quite as exciting as, say, Dancing With the Stars, but we’ll take any Phelps we can get!
