Miley Cyrus is having a busy week between laying down some new tracks with other musicians and fielding relationship rumors about fiance Liam Hemsworth. That didn’t stop the 20-year-old songstress from releasing a new song today, though!
The reggae-tinged single “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks”, which Miley has been tweeting furiously about all day, is a collaboration with Snoop Lion (nee Snoop Dogg) and producer Major Lazer.
As is usually the case with Snoop’s material, the song is mainly about “getting buzzed”, and while this might not be a lifestyle change for Miley, it’s certainly a bit of an artistic change from her “Party in the USA” and “Hoedown Throwdown”. Maybe we should get used to some big changes for Miley, though. She’s completely overhauled her girl-next-door look and is now teamed up with hip hop artists Pharrell Williams and Tyler the Creator for her upcoming album.
Here are some of the lyrics: “Now my buzz is gone, and I need to re-up on reality/Can’t let them see me weak.”
Are you happy to see Miley keep running farther from her former Disney princess image, or do you miss the old Miley?
