Teen sensations Mindless Behavior are taking crowdsourcing to a whole new level with the kickoff of their contest, “Your Lyrics, Their Voices.” Have you ever wanted to write a verse for your favorite boy band? Well, here’s your chance!

Mindless Behavior -- Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray, and  Roc Royal -- are giving their fans the opportunity to write their own song lyrics for a verse of a special fan edition their hit single, “All Around the World.”  And the best part? The band will record the winning fan’s lyrics, and the song will be available for free download via an access code available with purchase of their Target exclusive deluxe album, All Around the World.

“We’re very excited for the contest because we have a lot of artistic fans out there who just want that one chance to shine, and we’re glad we’re giving them the opportunity with our music,” Princeton told Wetpaint Entertainment. “Personally, I like poetry and lyrics, so I’m excited to see who’s going to win. I’m a little nervous to see how the lyrics are going to turn out!”

The “Your Lyrics, Their Voices” contest runs Feb. 18 through Feb. 25. If you want to submit your verse, submissions will be accepted online on Mindless Behavior’s Facebook page. So what kind of submissions are the boys looking for?

“‘All Around the World’ is the song, so it’s probably going to have to be about traveling,” Ray Ray  laughed. But on a more serious note, he added, “Be confident when you write your lyrics, and know what vibe you’re going for.”

But what’s their best piece of advice for aspiring songwriters?

“Don’t use a dictionary!” Princeton told us. “You shouldn’t do it. A lot of people try to find smart words and try to make sound unique, but it all comes the heart. Don’t even open a thesaurus or a dictionary.”

After all, some of the best lyrics come from the words you make up. Just ask Drake! He turned an acronym -- YOLO -- into a Oxford Dictionary Word of the Year contender for 2012. And it seems Princeton also has a knack for making words up on the fly.

“I’m constantly making up words! I call it the Princetonary,” joked Princeton. “There’s feng shuious -- I don’t know what that means, but I created that word yesterday because our manager got on my nerves and I said, ‘You’re acting feng shuious.’”

In addition to the winning fan’s lyrics, Target’s deluxe exclusive album will feature four additional tracks --“Lookin For Ya,” “Bang Bang Bang,” “Your Favorite Song,” and “House Party” -- and will only be available at Target and Target.com beginning March 12. Mindless Behavior’s debut film, All Around The World, will be released on March 15.
