Talk about a travel nightmare! On a recent flight from New York to San Francisco, supermodel Maggie Rizer’s plane was delayed for two hours. The plane got so hot that the pilot instructed passengers to open air vents. But her own safety wasn’t what Maggie was worried about.

TMZ reports that Maggie’s two-year-old golden retriever, Bea, along with another of her dogs, was in the underbelly of the plane. Maggie claims that the cargo area was not ventilated, and she believes that her dog died of heat stroke.

After the flight, Maggie says that United told her that they took the dog for a necropsy to determine the cause of death, but that it was all a lie. "I am so saddened by the complete lack of competence, honestly (sic) and compassion that United has shown,” Maggie said.

United claims that the investigation is ongoing. Maggie does not intend to sue.
