Things just seem to be getting murkier in the case of the bar brawl that erupted last week between Chris Brown and Drake's respective crews — as more victims who were hurt in the melee continue to emerge and, ominously, the club in question — W.i.P in New York's SoHo — has been shut down for "code violations." Gulp.
Reportedly, Wednesday night saw a fight between Chris Brown's entourage and Drake's entourage develop at a nightclub, which allegedly culminated in a glass bottle being thrown across the club — Breezy tweeted a picture of his chin showing a nasty cut, and an Australian woman named Hollie C. said that she had sixteen stitches and a tetanus shot as a result of her injuries from the evening's violence. The basketball player Tony Parker, who was also present, said that his retina was scratched during the brawl.
Now, even more bystanders are claiming to have been hurt in the fight: A 21-year-old model named Ingrid Gutierrez, who claims to have suffered a blow to the head which, her lawyer implied, may cause scars that could damage her career. (Y'know, being a model and all.) Another victim, Lucy Pavlosky, says she ended up with a wound on her arm that required 12 stitches.
So it shouldn't come as any surprise that the club where the brawl allegedly went down, was closed on Saturday night for, the New York Police Department said, "code violations." The Wall Street Journal says that "The NYPD did not provide details on the violations," but we'll expect more details to materialize going forward.
Regardless, it's a good lesson: The club is for popping bottles, not throwing them.
