She's best friends with Nicole Kidman, and a lot of folks associate her with Australia, but Naomi Watts was born in England and didn't move to Oz until she was 14.
So she is a Brit, and has she two children of her own, but that doesn't mean she's really ready to play Princess Diana in the upcoming film, Caught in Flight, which will center on the last two years of Di's life and her secret affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn.
"I'm looking forward to it, but am absolutely terrified," Naomi, age 43, said of the role (via Page Six). "It's going to be a tough one. It's a big beast to take on. I just try to do my best."
The role was previously rumored to be going to American Jessica Chastain, but Naomi may be a better fit.
Naomi told the Daily Mail, "The filmmakers came to me and it's a good script and it's very scary and I kind of wanted to say no but I couldn't. ...Now I'm doing all the research and there is so much to read, I just hope we make a good film and people can learn something new about her that's interesting."
If anyone can pull off the role, it’s Naomi. Good luck! We’re looking forward to the royal results.
