Attention, Human Beings! Things are pop-popping at Greendale Community College!

While we wait on the edge of our study room seats for word on the series’ fourth season pickup, Vulture reports that two Community executive producers, Neil Goldman and Garret Donovan (namesakes to fan-favorite characters Fat Neil and Garrett), have signed a deal with 20th Century Fox to work on new pilots. Their departure from NBC is reportedly amicable. (Cue Shirley: “That’s nice.”)

What does this mean to ever-loyal Community fans? Essentially nothing — yet.

Dan Harmon — the show’s creator and Jedi Master of its uniquely offbeat voice — is still running the show. And Neil and Garrett’s departure makes room for other lower-level producers and writers to move up the ranks. This means fresh ideas and even more narrative experimentation — something that Community fans have come to expect, if not demand.

Whether or not the cast remains intact, especially after the acerbic Chevy Chase voicemail scandal, remains to be seen. Let’s get Community renewed for a fourth season first, then we can start worrying about the fate of Pierce and his Hawthorne Wipes.
