Back in 1996, Leonardo DiCaprio and director Baz Luhrmann brought Garbage, Radiohead and The Cardigans to the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack. Sixteen years later, Baz and Leo are back, bringing Jay-Z and Kanye West to The Great Gatsby.

The new Gatsby trailer was released Tuesday, featuring Jay and Kanye's "No Church in the Wild." It's not clear if the song will be in the film itself — which will be released on Christmas Day — but one of the film’s stars, Isla Fisher, told MTV, "On my first day [Baz] had Jay-Z pumped up full, and we did the entire scene with, you know, Jay-Z in our ear on full blast while acting, and it was just so liberating."

Yeah, what better way to wipe the high school English class glaze off The Great Gatsby than with hip hop? Maybe it isn't an era-specific fit with F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel, but the story is an ode to upper crust New York — and Jay-Z is all about the Empire State of Mind.

The film stars Leo as Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan and Leo's old pal Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway. Somehow, Tobey has not aged a day since he was Spider-Man. He still looks like the same pale, skinny Peter Parker. And he's 36!
