Most of the ladies on Real Housewives of New York shy away from conversations about money, particularly their reputedly high salaries for appearing on the show. But new RHONY cast member Carole Radziwill claims that she isn’t anything like the other ladies. How? She’s in it for the money.

The NY Post features an article on the Kennedy-connected Carole, who dares to wear hot pants to a cocktail party in the Season 5 premiere, and we can’t help but like her. Carole spent 20 years as an ABC News reporter, until her husband died of cancer just months after best friends John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy died in a plane crash in 1999. Her memoir, What Remains, was a New York Times best-seller.

“Critical acclaim is great, and it gets you the corner table,” she says, “but commercial success pays the bills.” She tells the Post that she thinks of the show as “a job offer,” and cites an item on her bucket list: “Try everything, and don’t be afraid.”

Carole also confesses that she “thought Ramona might be someone who would just drive me crazy.” To read the whole article, click here.

Do you respect Carole’s honesty about doing RHONY for the paycheck? Or do you think she’s passive-aggressively dissing the show with that declaration?
