At tonight's fashion-fierce Met Gala, music starlet supreme Rihanna told the LA Times that "designing is in the near future for me," further fueling long-standing speculation that the often edgily-clad songstress is planning to take her fashion sense to the next level.

Catching everyone's eye by arriving very fashionably late in a tight black alligator skin number designed by Tom Ford, RiRi went on to say, "We're working on it as we speak."

As previously reported by British Vogue, Rihanna told Ryan Seacrest in March that she was planning to pursue a fashion label all her own: "I want to design. This is also a road that I want to earn it. So I'm working with designers. Designers that I respect, and companies that I respect." One of those companies is Emporio Armani, for whom she created a line last November.

Becoming the next Donatella Versace isn't the only thing Little Miss Ri is adding to her resume this year. The illustrious performer is set to make her silver screen debut in the quiet, thinking man's aliens-at-sea action film Battleship, out next week.
