Nick Lachey is showing that there's a lot left of him.
The former boy band star has been chosen by NBC to host the upcoming singing competition series The Winner Is, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nick is a pro at hosting NBC singing show, as he has previously hosted The Sing-Off. This new show is being produced by producers of The Voice and Deal or No Deal, and it will feature a yet-to-be-chosen celebrity judge.
"Nick is a versatile, seasoned host, and we are thrilled to be working him," says NBC exec Paul Telegdy says. "With Nick at the helm on air and an original format from Talpa [Media USA] that includes surprising and competitive twists, viewers are sure to be immersed and entertained."
In the new show, two singers will perform head-to-head and will be evaluated by a panel of judges. If either singer thinks he or she flubbed the performance, they can leave the show in exchange for cash. Otherwise, they can remain on the show and see if the jury chooses to advance them to the next round, in pursuit of the million-dollar cash prize.
The show does not yet have an premiere date.
And here we thought that there wouldn't possibly be a way to squeeze one more singing show onto TV!
