After the stress of last week’s episode, we’re terrified for Nikita’s Season 2 finale — but in a good way. With Nikita (Maggie Q) and the rest of the gang in Division territory, we know we’re in for quite a show.
We had a chance to chat with Maggie recently, and she dropped some hints about what we can expect. Let’s just say that it sounds like we’re right to be scared. Read on for the details, but be warned that there are spoilers ahead!
Wetpaint Entertainment: Can you tease the Season 2 finale in broad strokes?
Maggie Q: Let me tell you, it never stops, that episode. [...] There is so much cool action and some really big stunts [...] Not everyone's going to make it. There's going to be some epic “bye-bye” scenes, but there is a full circle thing that happens with Nikita and the other characters which is, to me, just personally, very beautiful as a person's journey.
Whoa! Are they going to be deaths we care about, or will they involve lesser characters?
Yes, you will care. I definite cared. I was very torn about it actually, because it's a very important element to the show. It’s one of those things. You have to build and destroy, build and destroy.
Will we end on the season on a cliffhanger?
Not so much a cliffhanger. We are set up Season 3 [...] It's a nice wrap up to season two [...] Like you actually felt good in the end, although there's tons of shocks before you feel good about anything.
So the finale is very open ended as opposed to wrapping things up?
The path is set for where she's going to go in the third season, but once she gets there... anything can happen.
Will the mission shift drastically in Nikita Season 3?
Totally. It will be a different show.
We’ve been missing Owen (Devon Sawa). Will we see him on the show again?
He's going to come back in the third season. We had plans to bring him back at the end of the season, and the story was going that way. Then it had to go another way, and some big decisions had to be made. So it was like, you either bring him back and you can't do the other stuff you wanted to do, or you wait, and you make it sweeter [...] There's no way in Season 3 that Nikita isn’t seeking Owen out to join her. There's no way. She's going to have to. Some big changes are going to be made after that season two. So she's going to need all the help she can get.
