Sorry, Twi-hards, but it looks like Robert Pattinson’s days as Edward Cullen are behind him. At the premiere of his new film, Bel Ami, Rob told Reuters that he’d be “too old” for another installment of the Twilight saga.

After starring in all five movies in the franchise, the 24-year-old admitted he’d “be curious” if Stephenie Meyer expanded her book series. But he added, “I just think I'd probably be too old [for a film adaptation]. I’m already too old.”

While his fans would probably beg to differ, we can’t blame him for wanting to tackle new roles. "You get an audience for doing certain jobs, so I think the biggest disservice you can do to your audience is trying to repeat the same thing and to come just to get money or whatever," Rob explained.

The heartthrob hasn’t wasted any time in stepping away from the blockbuster saga. Over the past year he’s acted alongside Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants and joined Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci in Bel Ami. His next flick, Cosmopolis, will hit theaters later this year.

As much as we love Twilight, we know it’s time to move on. The fact that we’ll get to see more of Rob without all that vampire makeup on is just a bonus!
