Claire Danes has a pretty small frame and, as she put it on Live! with Kelly, "It’s now getting to the point where I’m looking a little knocked up."
That's an issue since her character on Showtime's Homeland, Carrie, is not meant to be pregnant, and they don't plan to write it into her storyline.
Claire and her husband, actor Hugh Dancy, announced their happy news on July 4. Claire isn't revealing the gender of the baby at this point, just joking that it is a human being.
And on a professional level, "I’ve been pretty fortunate thus far — we’re in the middle of filming our second season and luckily we’ve been able to conceal it," Claire said (via People). "They haven’t written it in, but they’ll be able to manipulate it in post and do some CGI trickery and make Carrie not so pregnant.”
So none of the old strategically placed props or unusually loose clothing, like they used to do before the fancy technology. Progress at work!
Homeland Season 2 premieres September 30 on Showtime. The first season is now out on DVD, if you haven't seen it. It’s so good...
