It was impossible to miss Betty Draper's extreme weight gain on Mad Men Season 5, Episode 3: "Tea Leaves." After all, it was a major plot point from the episode.
Many fans quickly realized that the writers didn't decide to make Betty gain weight on a whim — it was because they had to find a way to work around January Jones' real life pregnancy. However, many people noted that Betty looked much heavier than January ever did in real life.
Well, if you thought that, you were right! January Jones was put in a fat suit and given facial prosthetics for the show, to make it look like she weighed more than she did. As you can see in this side-by-side pic, the difference between January at eight months pregnant and Betty on the show is notable.
Do you think the extra makeup and fat suit were well done, or too much? Voice your opinion in our poll.
