In recent years, rapper LL Cool J has become a major TV star as Sam Hanna on NCIS: Los Angeles, and now he can add 2012 Grammy Awards host to his ever-growing list of accolades.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," he said in a statement. "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true."

Not only has LL Cool J won two Grammys for his songs "Hey Lover" and "Mama Said Knock You Out," but he has also hosted the live Grammy nominations concert since 2008.

Even more impressive, the 44-year-old singer is the first person to emcee the show in almost a decade — the last host was Queen Latifah back in 2005.

LL will be joined on stage by a slew of music's hottest artists, included Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift.

To catch the 54th Grammy Awards, tune in to CBS on February 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
