The Real Housewives of New York is back for a fifth season on June 4, and this time, half of the cast is made up of new faces. The signature one-liners that accompany each Housewives introduction are always very telling, so take a look at what the new gals — and three of our old favorites — are bringing to the table.
Aviva Drescher, the 5’10” amputee: “Never underestimate a woman born and raised in New York City.”
Carole Radziwill, the downtown Kennedy-connected single girl: “I’m a princess, but I’m definitely not a drama queen.”
Heather Thomson, the Yummie Tummie founder: “My success is built on making women look and feel their best. Holla!”
Countess LuAnn de Lesseps: “To some women, living elegantly just comes naturally.”
Ramona Singer: “I’m not afraid to say what everyone else is thinking.”
Sonja Morgan: “A little Sonja will spice up any party.”
First impressions? Aviva is almost immediately making threats, which can’t be good. Carole, who may be the first Housewife to wear pants in her intro, is establishing herself as anti-drama. And Heather, well, if it weren’t for the forced “Holla!” we would have no problem with her.
As for the alum, we’re not surprised by any of their taglines. But we are a bit sad that Sonja’s entire act has been reduced to being a hot cougar who likes to party. Maybe she’ll surprise us.
Tell us what you think of the new cast in the comments, and watch the intros for yourself below.
The Real Housewives of New York Season 5 premieres on Monday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
