Rihanna may be getting more downtime than even she bargained for.
The 25-year-old singing sensation had already hinted at plans, via Ryan Seacrest of all people, to potentially spend up to a year off after the conclusion of her Diamonds World Tour, but today Live Nation announced that her show in the TD Gardens in Boston would be postponed due to a nasty case of laryngitis.
The exact wording of the statement was, as reported by TMZ, "Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening." From the sound of that, it just seems like she’s been sidelined temporarily on doctor’s orders.
But Rihanna certainly isn’t happy about it. The star reached out to fans via Twitter, writing, “#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down.”
Rihanna certainly isn’t the only vocalist to change her plans in order to deal with throat problems. But so far, RiRi’s next scheduled concert — in Baltimore on Tuesday — is set to go on as planned. We certainly hope she feels better!
