Robert Pattinson certainly appears to be handling his recent relationship drama like a champ.
The actor made his first public appearance in the wake of the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal when he stepped out for the New York City premiere of his new movie Cosmopolis on August 13. He was all sexy smiles in a blue suit, blue shirt, and black tie while walking the red carpet at the Museum of Modern Art.
According to People, the actor continued to enjoy himself at the after-party, where he “looked genuinely at ease and comfortable the whole time,” spilled a fellow attendee.
“The general crowd gravitated towards his table, but he was shielded by security,” the insider added. “He was surrounded by women and the movie's cast.”
Earlier that day, Rob sat down with Jon Stewart for his first interview since Us Weekly released photos of Kristen, his girlfriend of three years, making out with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director.
Although Rob never addressed the elephant in the studio directly, Jon whipped out a couple pints of ice cream and joked, “The last time I had a bad breakup, Ben & Jerry got me through some of the tougher times. So I thought you and I could bond over this and talk about, ‘Boy, you are better off. Kick her to the curb.’”
After ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange with Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg the following morning, Rob hit the streets in a more dressed-down ensemble of black pants and a white t-shirt.
Even better, Variety reports that the 26-year-old A-lister has signed on to play T.E. Lawrence (a.k.a. Lawrence of Arabia) in Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert opposite Naomi Watts.
Things are looking up — and lookin’ damn good — for the “heartbroken” star.
