Oh, to be a fly on the wall back in the '90s Mickey Mouse Club days. The Disney show brought together Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera, among other still-current stars.
Ryan Gosling, 32, talked to the UK's The Sunday Times to promote The Place Beyond the Pines, and he chatted about Britney, 31, whom he first met when he was 12. "Britney was a sweetheart. She lived right above me, the girl next door. The little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with." So not only did Brit date JT, she got to make out with The Gos?! How does a girl get so lucky, then lose them both?
Anyway, Ryan told The Sunday Times he doesn't really keep in touch with any of his old MMC crew. "I mean, sometimes you are at the same event, but it's a lot like I imagine what it's like to run into someone from elementary school."
He said he's not surprised by all the talent that came out of that class of 1993. But it was hard for him to leave that two-year stint in Florida and return to a "normal life" in Ontario. “I’d had a taste of this life, and it’s hard to go back to school and just be a kid. You get into fights, you get called names, ‘You’re gay’, you’re just a target. My father worked every day at the paper mill. We never saw him, and I didn’t want that kind of life. I was adamant about not having that."
No one really wants a life like The Office, but not all are as lucky as the Mouseketeers. But Ryan got his wish. Now he's a superstar with memes all over the place, a gorgeous girlfriend, and status as the sexiest non-Sexiest Man Alive. And Britney would probably love to play spin the bottle with him again!
