What's the first name that comes to mind when you think of politics? Is it Ryan Seacrest? You
hopefully probably answered no, but that may be about to change, thanks to a two-year deal that Ryan signed today with NBCUniversal to make expanded appearances on NBC, meaning we'll be seeing him on prime-time entertainment shows, the morning show Today, sporting events like the Olympics, and yes — even election coverage. Because we assume you were just thinking to yourself, "You know who doesn't have nearly enough TV exposure? Ryan Seacrest!"
Ryan's title at Today will be "special correspondent" (isn't that special?). Meanwhile, his election coverage will appear on NBC News, although it has yet to be decided exactly what he'll be doing for them. This means that Ryan won't appear very often on E!, although he'll still cover red-carpet events, so he'll luckily have plenty more opportunities to have weird powder dumped on him by Sacha Baron Cohen.
And don't worry — he'll still be hosting Fox's American Idol, having recently signed another two-year deal over there. No word on exactly when he'll be appearing on CBS, ABC, or The CW, but that's bound to happen one of these days, right? Every network wants a piece of the Crest!
