Same hair, same crazy fashion sense, same city — Sarah Jessica Parker is nowhere in sight, but this is definitely Carrie Bradshaw!
The Carrie Diaries, the Sex and the City prequel series premiering on The CW this fall, follows Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) as she comes of age in the 1980s and starts asking her classic questions about love, sex, and friendship — through the lens of Manhattan.
Thanks to costume designer Eric Daman (Sex and the City, Gossip Girl), AnnaSophia looks the part, but will she do the role justice? Amy B. Harris, the show’s writer and executive producer, believes she will.
“When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her,” Amy says. “Her grace, intelligence, sense of fun, and her empathetic nature make her the perfect girl to bring our young Carrie to life. The fact that she loves a gorgeous pair of heels doesn’t hurt either.”
What do you think of AnnaSophia in young Carrie’s first over-the-top ensemble? Is The CW on the right track?
