Saturday Night Live might be adding a whole new batch of female comedians to its Featured Player line-up.

According to Deadline, SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels has been testing out four new female comedians for a spot (or possible spots) as a Featured Player on the show. The funny ladies that are on Lorne’s shortlist include Kate McKinnon (The Big Gay Sketch Show), Jessica Joy (The Playboy Club), Lauren Lapkus (Are You There Chelsea) and Elaine Carroll, from the hilarious web series Very Mary-Kate which you should go and watch right now. Yes, now!

McKinnon will reportedly appear as a Featured Player on their next show on Saturday, April 7. This would make her SNL’s first openly lesbian cast member. Watch a collection of some of her funniest moments (and her commitment ceremony!) on BuzzFeed.

It isn’t clear if the other comics will be appearing on the show this season or if Lorne is testing them for next season. Either way, this means that SNL will get some much-needed female comics in their line-up (only four of the thirteen cast members are women).
