Here we were, wondering if The Walking Dead Season 3, Episode 7, "When the Dead Come Knocking" would be a milder episode, more of a set-up for the next week's midseason finale. We know the December 2 episode will be killer (literally, expect death), including the appearance of a new major character, and executive producer Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly Episode 8 will include "the first confrontation between Rick and the people in the prison and the Governor and the people of Woodbury."
But this Sunday’s November 25 episode won't just entail placing the pieces on the chessboard. A fan tweeted to showrunner Glen Mazzara, "'When the Dead Come Knocking' sounds exciting, will it be?" and Mazarra answered, “It's one of my favorite @WalkingDead_AMC episodes EVER.”
Yeah, it’s his job to promote the show, but now we’re intrigued!
DETAILS ON EPISODE 7
UPDATE: Spoil the Dead has another play-by-play of what will happen tonight, if you want those kinds of more detailed episode spoilers. Read that roundup here. Otherwise, read on for general spoilers on what will happen this week and next week.
MICHONNE LEADS THE WAY: From what we understand through sneak peeks, promos and spoiler photos, Michonne (Danai Gurira) doesn't just end up at the prison on Episode 7, she talks to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) about The Governor (David Morrissey) and they head out into the forest, along with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and one of the new prison guys, Oscar (Vincent Ward). Best guess is they are on their way to Woodbury to try and save Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn (Steven Yeun), who have been abducted by Daryl's wackadoo brother Merle (Michael Rooker).
PRAY FOR MAGGIE AND GLENN: One sneak peek (below) shows Merle interrogating (and punching) Glenn to try and find out the location of the prison, so he can be reunited with Daryl. Glenn says The Ricktator is on the way to save them. Merle replies that Rick won't do anything if he wants to save "Little Bo Peep," presumably meaning Maggie. Meanwhile, Maggie appears to be kept in a different interrogation area, and she may have to face The Governor alone. That could go badly. Executive producer Robert Kirkman has said the trip to Woodbury will not be pleasant for either Glenn or Maggie. “They're definitely not going to get out of this unscathed.”
NOW WHAT, ANDREA? A little piece of the promo shows The Governor pushing away a woman who wants to get more intimate with him. That looks like Andrea again, right? So what’s up with that?
CAROL IS BACK! SO... Daryl saved Carol (Melissa McBride) at the end of Episode 6, so what’s next for them? Kirkman told The Hollywood Reporter, “This is a win and this is definitely something that they needed. Now that she's back in the mix, it's going to be time for rejoicing but again this happens at a time when Maggie and Glenn have been taken and Michonne is being brought into the mix and things are getting that much more dangerous and that much more interesting. You can only celebrate so much.” We see that Daryl heads out with Rick, so he and Carol can’t spend that much time together. We’re guessing Carol helps with Little Ass-Kicker, since she has experience raising a child. (RIP, Sophia!) And here’s one more chance to vote in our poll about Daryl and Carol as a couple or just friends.
DIXON BROTHERS REUNION: Don’t necessarily expect Merle to reunite with Daryl on Episode 7, but Kirkman said, “We're definitely heading to a reunion of some kind eventually. Obviously that's something that we're building toward. When we get to that remains to be seen but that's going to be something that's going to be on Merle's mind as he interacts with Glenn and Maggie.” Eventually the Dixon bros will reunite, but Norman Reedus teased some “conflict” between them.
