Members of the British-Irish pop sensation The Wanted get tricked big time on this week’s episode of Punk’d, but not without the crucial prank-playing guidance of one of their own.
Turns out one of the Brits was in on the prank all along. Jay McGuiness was the mole of the group, helping the Punk’d team to pull a fast one on his bandmates.
“The team at Punk'd spoke to someone on our management team in the U.S. called Nano. ... Nano knew that out of the group, I enjoyed pranking the lads a lot,” Jay told MTV. “On the day we filmed Chelsea Lately, it all just slowly kicked off. It was just a brilliantly gruesome day. It was awesome.”
So what exactly went down? According to MTV, sometime during their appearance on the show in February, the boys were accused of kidnapping a little girl. Once they got outside, police arrived on the scene to take them to the station. Fear, and, of course, hilarity, ensued.
But The Wanted fellas aren’t planning on taking their Punk’d fiasco sitting down — these guys want revenge, and not on their bandmate Jay. The guys are setting their sights on prank-playing extraordinaire, Justin Bieber.
"You know who you really want to punk next? Bieber," Torn Parker, one of the group’s members, explained. "Because he claims he's un-punkable, and this could be something that we need to set up."
