California's hidden treasures are now without their biggest fan.

Huell Howser, who has hosted the travel show California's Gold for the past 18 years, passed away on January 6 in his home.

Huell was 67 and reportedly died of natural cuases, although the exact details of his death are unknown at the moment.

He was known for his wide-eyed enthusiasm as he toured lesser-known California landmarks and businesses on the show. He had retired from the show in November.

Among his famous fans was The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, who loved Huell's show. In fact, Huell has appeared on two Simpsons episodes, which is no small feat.

We'll miss you, Huell.
